Rear Admiral Muhammad Anwarul Islam, NGP, ndc, afwc, psc, BN has joined NDC as Senior Directing Staff (Navy) on 15 Apr 2013. He was born in Noakhali on 17 April 1961. He joined Bangladesh Navy as an Officer Cadet (79B Batch) on 05 November 1979 and was commission in Executive Branch on 05 May 1982.
Rear Admiral Anwar attended number of courses at home and abroad. He has done his Midshipman and Ag Sub Lt course at Britannia Royal Naval College, UK. He has done Surface Warfare Officers course in USA and Long Navigation and Direction course in India. He is a graduate of Turkish Naval Staff College and Armed Forces War Course, NDC, Mirpur. He is also a graduate of National Defence College, India.
Rear Admiral Anwar has a distinguished career in command, staff and instructional appointments. He has commanded number of ships and establishments of Bangladesh Navy. He has served as Commodore Commanding BN Flotilla (COMBAN), Commodore Special Warfare Diving and Salvage Command (COMSWADS) and Commodore Commanding Chittagong (COMCHIT). He also served as Chairman Chittagong Port Authority. In instructional appointments, he has served as Directing Staff in the Armed Forces War Course Wing of National Defence College, Mirpur. He also had the opportunity to serve as ADC to the Hon’ble President.
Rear Admiral Anwar is a widely traveled person. He is happily married with Syeda Tahsina Ahmed and blessed with three daughters. His hobbies are reading & watching cricket. He is also a keen golfer.
Air Vice Marshal M Sanaul Huq, GUP, ndc, psc, GD(P)

Air Vice Marshal M Sanaul Huq was born on 21 July 1962 at Kishoregonj. He joined Bangladesh Air Force on 15 November 1980 and was commissioned on 16 May 1983 in GD(P) branch with Sword of Honour.
Addl Secy Shahid Hasan, ndc
Senior Directing Staff (Civil)
Additional Secretary Shahid Hasan, ndc was born in 01 January, 1962. He obtained his Bachelor of Social Science with Honours and Master of Social Science in Economics from Dhaka University. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service(Secretariat) Cadre on 21 January, 1986 and worked as Assistant Secretary in the Roads and Road Transport Division, Ministry of Communications for two years. Then joined the BCS(Taxation) cadre on 15 February, 1988 and worked in the National Board of Revenue for long eighteen years in different capacities as Assistant Commissioner of Taxes, Deputy Commissioner of Taxes, Second Secretary, Joint Commissioner of Taxes and Additional Commissioner of Taxes. In 2006, he joined as Deputy Secretary to the Government and worked as Project Director in Export Promotion Bureau, under the Ministry of Commerce for three years. He worked in the Ministry of Science and Technology for five years both as Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary. Before joining NDC , he was Secretary, SPARRSO under Ministry of Defence. He has joined NDC as Senior Directing Staff (Civil) on 17 July 2016.
During his career, Shahid Hasan received Degree/Training from home and abroad. He received Master of Arts in Development Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts, USA along with two months Course in Economics Institute, Colorado ,USA. In addition to that, he had also done Master of Strategies and Development Studies (MSDS) from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He completed his professional trainings like Foundation Training, Advanced Course on Administration and Development (ACAD), Managing At The Top (MATT) and Senior Staff Course (SSC) from Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC). As a part of these trainings, he completed three short courses in Civil Service College, Singapore, Bradford University, UK and National University, Malaysia. He had also taken training and attended conferences/study tours in India, South Korea, Japan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, UAE, Switzerland, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Oman and UK. Shahid Hasan is married. He has one son and one daughter studying in different disciplines.

Shah Ahmed Shafi, Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh was born on the 22nd October in 1970 in the District of Comilla, Bangladesh. He obtained his Secondary (1985) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (1987) exams respectively from Comilla Zilla School and Comilla Victoria College. He did his Hounours and Master Degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka in 1990 and 1991 (exams held in 1993 & 1994) respectively. Shafi obtained a one year Post Graduation Diplomas in Human Resource Management from Bangladesh Management Institute (BMI) in 1996 and in International Relations and Diplomacy (equivalent to Master Degree) from the National Institute of Public Administration (IIAP) in Paris, France in 2001. He studied MBA (International Business Management) in the University of Nairobi, Kenya in 2002-2003 (completed 18 out of 20, and kept one course and the thesis pending due to his transfer to the United States).
Shafi joined the Department of Environment (DOE), Bangladesh in 1996 as Research Officer. In 1998 he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh as Assistant Secretary after qualifying through the 17th General BCS Exam. Subsequently over the years he worked in the Ministry in different capacities, and underwent a series of training programmes at home and abroad including Cavilam, Vichy, & the IIAP, Paris, France, French Embassy, Canberra, Australia, and the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. He did his National Defence Course from NDC Bangladesh in 2016 and completed Part 1 of his MPhil on Energy Security and Scope of Sub-regional Energy Cooperation and in South Asia at the Bangladesh University of Professional, and continues the 2nd Part on Energy Security and Climate Issues with an aim to prosecute his PhD on the same with focus on the Prospects of Renewal Energy in Bangladesh.
Shafi worked in the Bangladesh Missions in Nairobi, Kenya, Los Angeles, USA, Paris, France, and New Delhi, India in different positions, and served as the Deputy Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UNEP and UN-Habitat, and Deputy Permanent Delegate of Bangladesh to UNESCO from 2002 to 2015, and successfully represented Bangladesh in negotiations on many important and critical internationals and global issues. He, in course of his trainings, studies, and in line with works abroad traveled to as many as forty countries.
Shah Ahmed Shafi is a strong believer of Islam and a practicing Muslim. He is a passionate reader of cosmology, international affairs and global politics. Amongst his dozens of hobbies, prominent are: watching movies & documentaries, sports, travelling, photography, interfaith dialogue and social networking. He is a single parent of two adorable children; daughter Andromeda Lubabah (12), and son Cyrus Shahriyar (10/ U.S. citizen), respectively the students of Grade 7 and Grade 5 in the South Breeze School at Uttara, Dhaka.
