Brigadier General Hasan Md Shamsuddin, afwc,psc was commissioned from Bangladesh Military Academy 0n 26 June 1987 in the Corps of Ordnance. Brigadier General Shams served in different regimental appointments as a regimental officer. He served in Logistics Area and an Infantry Division as Staff Officer. He was both Instructor and Chief Instructor in Ordnance Centre and School. He also commanded a Division Ordnance Company and two Border Guard Bangladesh battalions. Brigadier General Shams attended number of courses both at home and abroad. He attended AFWC at National Defence College, Bangladesh and obtained his Masters in War Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals. He is a graduate of Defence Service Command and Staff College, Bangladesh and obtained his Master of Defence Studies from National University of Bangladesh. He also obtained his Masters in Business Administration degree from Military Institute of Science and Technology under Dhaka University. He served as sector operation officer in Northern Iraq (UNGCI) in 1996-97 , as Staff officer in Ivory Coast (UNOCI) in 2004-05 and as senior staff officer in South Sudan (UNMISS) in 2013-14. Brigadier General Shams is a widely traveled person. He enjoys travelling and reading. Brigadier General Shams joined NDC as Directing Staff (Army), AFWC Wing on 30 November 2014. He is happily married and father of a son and a daughter.

Col Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, SGP, afwc, psc

Colonel Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, SGP, afwc, psc was born in 25 December 1971. He was commissioned in the East Bengal Regiment on 09 June 1992. Besides diverse regimental appointments in a number of Infantry units, he also commanded an Infantry Division Support Battalion. He held various staff appointments that includes Grade-3 Staff Officer and Brigade Major in Head Quarters 69 Infantry Brigade and Grade-1 Staff Officer (CI) in largest ops fmn HQ 24 Inf Div. He had unique experience of various training affairs of NDC as Grade-1 Staff Officer (Training ).
He is awarded with Sena Gourob Padak and Chief of Army Staff Commendation (Operations) for conducting successful raid and ambush under ‘Operation Dabanal’ in Chittagong Hill Tracts. He participated in United Nations Peace Keeping Operation with Bangladesh Battalion as Platoon Commander in Kuwait (UNIKOM) and as Adjutant in Ivory Coast (UNOCI).
Apart from all mandatory courses, Colonel Sazzad also attended Dignitary Protection course from Thailand, United Nations Integrated Mission Staff Officers course from Canada and International Joint Operational Planning Course in UK. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur and obtained his Masters in Defence Studies from National University, Bangladesh. He is a distinguished graduate of National Defence College, Mirpur and alumni of Armed Forces War Course. He also obtained Masters in Philosophy (Part-1) under Banglaedesh University of Professionals.
Colonel Sazzad is married with Dr Salina Nur and blessed with a son and two daughters. He visited a number of countries including Canada, China, Germany, Ivorycoast, Kuwait, Malaysia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Switzerland, Vietnam, Thailand, United Kingdom and UAE. Before joining in present appointment as DS AFWC, he served as Colonel Staff in the Head Quartars 24 Infantry Division.

Cdre Khondkar Misbah Ul Azim, (TAS), afwc, psc
Directing Staff (Navy)
Commodore Khondkar Misbah Ul Azim, (TAS), afwc, psc, BN joined Bangladesh Navy on 01 January 1987. He underwent basic naval officer’s training at Royal Malaysian Naval Academy and received his commission in 1989 in the Executive Branch. He completed his specialization on Anti-Submarine Warfare from INS Venduruthy, India with distinction. Commodore Azim is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Mirpur and distinguished alumnus of Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, India. He obtained Masters in Defence Studies (MDS) from National University and MSc in Strategic Studies from Madras University, India, obtaining 1st class in both. Commodore Azim is a graduate of Armed Forces War Course (AFWC) from National Defence College. He commanded number of BN ships including BNS SHAH AMANAT, BNS SAIKAT, BNS NIRBHOY, BNS S R AMIN, and time-honoured BN Frigate BNS UMAR FAROOQ (F-16). He has also commanded naval base BNS TITUMIR. He was executive officer of guided-missile Frigate BNS OSMAN, while deployed in Mediterranean Sea under United Nations Emblem. Commodore Azim has served as a staff officer in Naval Headquarters, in Armed Forces Divisions (AFD) and in Naval Area Commander’s Office. He served as instructor in Bangladesh Naval Academy, Directing Staff in BN Junior staff course and as Directing Staff in Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Mirpur. Commodore Azim received Chief of the Naval Staff’s commendations for his outstanding achievements in anti piracy operations. In his student life, he received Chancellor Award from Hon’ble President for his academic feat both in SSC and HSC examinations. He has a number of articles published in various Defence Journals to his credit. In personal life, Commodore Azim is happily married to Mrs. Nurtaz Azim and blessed with two lovely daughters Nuzabah and Mehtaz. Prior taking over his current assignment as the Directing Staff in Armed Forces War Course in National Defence College, Mirpur, Commodore Azim performed the duties of the Director Naval Operations, Director Multinational Operations and Director SD & Ceremony in Naval Headquarters.
